Sapphires are manufactured in large numbers. They are manufactured as large crystal boulders and then are cut to small pieces to use in them in different forms like rings or necklaces. Mostly, these stones are fitted in rings in a single crystal form of the sapphire. Sapphire is known to be a form of aluminium oxide which is a mineral which is recognised as corundum. The commonly known colour for sapphire is blue. Most people think of blue colour when they hear of sapphire. But it’s not like that; sapphire comes in many different colours such as red, orange, green, pink, yellow and purple. These all type of gems are used in making of different types of sapphires engagement rings.
To bring the natural colour vibrant to the sapphires engagement rings, a true craftsmanship is needed to cut those stones because if it is not cut properly then it won’t get its original colour. If one poor cut is made the whole process would go waist as the stone will get a dull appearance with one poor shot. This stone gives its true colour when it is found with small amount of iron and chromium. It gets its different colours by depending up on the amount of iron and chromium.
